This talk inspired me to think about loss. If Steve Jobs had never dropped out, he would have never dropped in on this calligraphy class. Sometimes I get frustrated with the failure. But crisis can be an opportunity. It's more important to review the problem after a failure than to be sad. “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.” Life is long and failure is only temporary. Maybe few years later you'll be grateful for the setbacks.

Every person’s gap year will look a little different, but, if you take one, what will you probably do? Why?

I will find a job or do an internship. Because I am confused about my future career and don't know what job is right for me. I think I can only understand that job if I try it. For example, I am currently doing an internship in an accounting firm, and after I tried I found that I don’t like this job. So I am sure it is not a job for me.

What are two of the important aspects of body language you want to improve the most when having an online meeting/class next time? Why?

First, I want to improve "eye contact" because I am shy. I'm always embarrassed when people look at me, so I don't dare to look other people in the eyes. The second one is the” gesture” because my body acts unnaturally when I’m nervous. It's easy to notice that I'm nervous from my posture. I hope that I could have natural body language in the future.

What could the world or other countries do to help Ukraine and its people?

Countries around Ukraine could build shelters for refugees and provide some weapons to those who do not retreat so that they can protect themselves. I think people in Taiwan can also help Ukraine. We can donate money to the organization that supports people within Ukraine and refugees seeking safety elsewhere with medical and humanitarian aid.
